Cont. interview with Chavis. Chavis states the Kings were supposed
to come by his home the night of the 25th, but did not. Chavis then
states that the last time he had seen Derek prior to the 25th was
the 9th. He states that he and King were good friends, until a falling
out a few years prior, but things had been improving between them.(2)
Chavis states that there was friction between the boys and King
when they were returned. Chavis states that the locks were changed
on the home, and he did not have keys. Chavis also states that there
was friction between Mr. Walker and King because Walker desired
custody of the boys, resulting in King threatening to do harm to
Walker.

immediately prior to the murder. Interview with Debbie Alltop, Ransom

Closing report statements.
Bob's
Notes:
(1)
According to the reports, only Terry King had the keys to the house,
as he had the locks changed. Neither boy gives any statement claiming
they locked the doors behind them. To the contrary, Alex states
that after they opened the door, they ran from the house as quickly
as they could. How were all the doors found locked?
(2)
Chavis made earlier statements that things were actually getting
rough between the two in the last few days. This statement directly
contradicts the earlier statement.
(3)
While I don't doubt the integrity of Mike Tyson, I do question his
recollection. We often remember what we WANT to hear. Did King actually
say "I'm afraid of the boys" or "I'm afraid of the
boys running away again". The latter would be better explained
by his planned activities - locking the boys in separate rooms,
and sleeping in the living room himself. If I feared retribution,
I'd lock myself in one of the rooms, not vice versa.
(4)
This is in contradiction to statements made directly by Mr. Walker.
