One important
legislator to write in Florida is Sen. Victor Crist, author of the
statute that requires all juveniles charged with 1st degree murder
be tried as adults, regardless of age. Sen. Crist is adamant that
this law not be changed regardless of the number of children Florida
sends away forever, and as the chair of the Criminal Justice committee,
he has the "clout" to see that it isn't changed.
